About NOBTS


NOBTS is a private educational institution affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. As a theological seminary, NOBTS offers associate, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees in various religious studies areas including practical ministry, theology, biblical studies, music, and psychology and counseling. As a research-intensive institution, NOBTS is classified by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as a level VI institution. NOBTS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS), and the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

   Founded in 1917, NOBTS has become one of the largest seminaries in America with an enrollment approaching 4,000 students. The Seminary's main campus is located in New Orleans. In addition, the Seminary offers education through extension centers located in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
